Baby Names From Dad's Favorite...
Comics, Movie Series, and Music. Click through for names that come from all of Dad’s favorites. You might be surprised by how much you like them…
As in Alfred Pennyworth, the butler who also practically raised the man that would become Batman in the comics.
Peter Parker was the name of the character who became Spider Man in the comic. But I think Parker is a really cool name all on its own for a little boy.
Clark Kent is the name of the character Superman plays when he is trying to appear to be a normal human being.
Logan, aka Wolverine from the X-Men comics was one of the most manly characters in the series.
While Lex Luther was not necessarily the most upstanding character from the Superman comics, I think the name Lex is undeniably cool.
Pepper is just the cutest name for a little girl. It was also the name of the character Pepper Pots, the woman who snagged the heart of Iron Man.
Rogue was one of my all time favorite characters from the X-Men. I always wanted to dye my hair with a white steak in front just like her.
Ben Grimm, aka “The Thing” from The Fantastic Four comic stories.
Professor Charles Xavier, also known as “Professor X” was the leader of the X-Men in the comics.
As in the character Reed Richards, aka “Mr. Fantastic” from The Fantastic Four
The name Bruce is a double whammy if you’re into the comics. You could pull it from Bruce Wayne, the man who became Batman. Or you could reference Bruce Banner, the man who became The Hulk.
Flash… ahhhhh… Flash Gordon. You know, the defender of the Universe?
I just adore the name Grey. And I also adore the character Jean Grey (also known as Phoenix) from the X-Men comics.
As in Hank McCoy. Also known as The Beast from the X-Men comic series.
Harvey Dent was the good guy turned bad character also known as “Two Face” in the Batman comic series.
Jean Grey, one of my favorite characters, was later known by the name Phoenix in the X-Men series.
A reference to Superman, the name Clark Kent was the name Superman went as while daylighting as a normal human guy.
Lois Lane, the self-confident female reporter who Superman just couldn’t get off his mind.
The red-headed love interest of Spider Man in the comics, Mary Jane is one of those sugar and spice, sweet and girly names
The first name of the billionaire genius character Tony Stark, aka. Iron Man
The mother of the Skywalkers and the wife of Anakin, Padme Amidala was a strong female character in the Star Wars series.
The name of one of the biggest characters in the Star Wars trilogy, Anakin Skywalker later became Darth Vader
Aurra is such a pretty name. Aurra Sing was a feared bounty hunter from the Star Wars series.
Han Solo, the outlaw with the heart of gold, he was one of the main characters in the Star Wars trilogy
Looking for a Star Wars name that is a little less on-the-nose? What about Harrison? As in Harrison Ford, the actor who played one of the biggest characters in the Star Wars series.
It is a bold name, to be sure. Jango Fett was a character in Star Wars who was a renowned bounty hunter.
Lando wasn’t exactly an upstanding character in the Star Wars series, but the name Lando is still pretty cool, don’t you think?
Princess Leia was the most prominent female character in the Star Wars trilogy.
Another Star Wars inspired name that is a little bit less obvious, instead of picking a name from one of the characters, how about the name of the creator, George Lucas?
Luke Skywalker, perhaps the biggest character in the Star Wars series is the hero of the story and a super powerful Jedi Knight.
Isn’t that the prettiest name? Luminara was a character from Star Wars who served as a Jedi Master. She also had green skin.
Mace Windu was a Jedi Master in the Star Wars series with a purple colored light saber.
Mara Jade (isn’t that a pretty name) is a character from the extrended Star Wars universe (have I proved my nerdiness yet?) She married Luke Skywalker.
A spin off from the name Skywalker from the Star Wars trilogy, I think Skye would be a lovely name for a little lady with a Star Wars loving dad.
Taken from the Skywalker character in the Star Wars series, I think the name Walker would be really cute for a little boy.
As in “Abbey Road” by the Beatles. A fan favorite, to be sure.
From the Beatles song, “Sweet Georgia Brown”
I think that Jude might be the most popular name popularized by Beatles Lyrcis. Taken from their song, “Hey Jude”.
Inspired by the Beatles song, “Penny Lane” I think the name Lane is adorable for either a little girl or a little boy.
You can find the name Loretta in the Beatles song, “Get Back”. It’s not as popular a name taken from their music but I think it’s really lovely all the same.
Lucy might rival the name Jude as far as popularity from a Beatles song goes. It’s taken from their oh-so-popular song, “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”
I’m pretty sure you’ve head this before, even if you didn’t realize it was the Beatles who wrote it: “…Michelle, my belle…”
From the Beatles song, “Penny Lane” which was actually a place from Lennon’s childhood home. Penny is a truly adorable name for a little girl.
It’s a traditional name with puritan influences but it can also be found in the Beatles song, “Dear Prudence”
