A Smoothie for Mom & Baby

With the summer heat on its way, I’ve been searching for recipes that’ll help us cool off! These peanut butter & banana smoothies are the perfect thing. Not only are they packed with protein, they are delicious! My toddler girls love them, too. Plus, they are a milk booster because of the oats and flax seed. (Great for nursing mothers!) And let’s be real, they taste like dessert! Sometimes we’ll even freeze them into popsicle molds! Click through for the recipe…

Ingredients:

1 banana
1 C ice
2 big spoonfuls of natural peanut butter
1/8 C oats
1 tablespoon flax seed
1/2 to 1 C milk (depending on your preferred consistency)

Blend everything until smooth!

(Alternatively, you can use a frozen banana and skip the ice. I’ve done that, too. Both turn out delicious!)
