A DIY Gender Reveal Party!
With the announcement of our fourth pregnancy, I’ve had the slight feeling that the reaction surrounding this little one is a bit more subdued than say, our first daughter.
While obviously we all cherish the new life growing inside of me, there becomes a little bit of a “been there, done that” attitude after the second baby, doesn’t there? And not just for other people, but for us as well. We’ve got this new baby thing down to a routine at this point.
So I was definitely looking for a way to “spice” up the fun of our fourth baby–and with my husband’s birthday coming up, I thought why not make it a little more fun with a gender reveal cake? I did some research to find some adorable gender reveal cakes and set off to make our own easy DIY gender reveal party.
DIY Gender Reveal Party!
With free printables and a few things around the house, you can throw an easy and fun gender reveal party!
Gender Reveal Cake
What’s a gender reveal party without the cake, of course? Our aunt volunteered to make this adorable gender reveal cake, which was so special for us and a lot more affordable than one from a fancy bakery. Score!
Gender Reveal Cupcakes
She also whipped up these yummy chocolate cupcakes for the kids–complete with a hidden surprise inside to reveal the baby’s gender! (And how cute are these for Easter too?)
Gender Reveal Table
In the corner of our dining room, the girls and I had fun decorating a gender reveal party. We included fun photo booth props, a voting station, and themed blue and pink wine for some party favors!
What do you think, girl or boy? Guests cast their vote for girl or boy before the reveal. For a fun twist, we had guests include a baby name suggestion and we drew winners for our favorites at the end of the party–with the winners taking home wine and chocolate!
Colored Hershey's Bars
My five-year-old had fun decorating some chocolate bars with pink and blue highlighters to match the theme of our party. She handed them out to the kid “winners” throughout the party.
And for the kiddos, themed juice boxes, of course!
Lips & Mostache Photo Booth
We also made our a DIY “photo booth” with lips and mustaches as a fun way for guests to cast their votes for boy or girl!
Mustache Photo Booth
My sister-in-law and niece voted boy–what will it be??

The cake was a hit–and delicious! It’s another girl for us!!
