A CD to Calm Down to on a Long Distance Drive

Thanks to Disney for sponsoring this post and giving me the Disney Baby Lullabies CD for free.

Last week, my husband and I moved, with our two very small girls, across the country.

As you can imagine, it was quite the drive (and one I’m not anxious to do again any time soon).

By the afternoon of the second day, I was about at my wits’ end. I was stiff from driving for so long, I had no real way to entertain the girls in the backseat (and my husband was no help because he was driving the moving truck), and they wouldn’t settle down and take a nap.

Finally, I dug out this Disney Baby CD and put it on. I doubted it’d be able to get them to sleep, but I needed something soothing and calm to listen to.

About ten minutes later, I realized I WAS feeling less stressed. The girls settled down a bit, I felt the tension rush out of me, and we drove peacefully along for another 20 or 30 minutes before both girls did, eventually, drop off to sleep.

And I kept the CD on even after they were snoozing soundly because I needed the quiet lullabies as much (or more) than they did.
