  • Pick A Gentle Baby Laundry Detergent

As someone with sensitive skin, I love that Baby ECOS® Hypoallergenic Laundry Detergent is great for both my skin and my baby’s! We try to stick with dye- and fragrance-free cleaning products in our home, but the lavender and chamomile scented detergent from Baby ECOS® is still quite gentle and smells lovely. As gentle as it is for baby, it’s a powerhouse in our washer.

  • Pre-Wash All Your Baby Fabrics

    Pre-Wash All Your Baby Fabrics

Even before baby gets home, it’s a good idea to wash all of your baby clothes. You never know what kind or dirt or germs might be lurking on clothes just brought home from the store. You can even go ahead and remove the tags so they won’t scratch baby’s skin; just be careful and make sure there are no ragged edges left when you cut off the tags.

  • Skip the Fabric Softener

    Skip the Fabric Softener

As tempting as it is to keep baby’s clothes extra soft, the chemicals in many fabric softeners can actually reduce the effectiveness of flame resistant baby fabrics. If you’re worried about a scratchy fabric, add a dash of white vinegar to your wash to keep clothes just as soft; don’t worry, they won’t come out smelling stinky!

  • Pre-Treat Any Stains

Head off stains at the pass by pre-treating them before they go into the wash. The Stain & Odor Remover from Baby ECOS® ROCKS. We use it all the time and it’s never let us down. With a gentle but powerful plant-based formula, it takes baby stains to task in any washer. Keep a small spray bottle handy in the diaper bag for pre-treating stains on-the-go, and a bottle right in baby’s nursery to get at stains right away.

  • Spot Clean the Little Accidents with Baby Wipes

Baby messes happen! It’s a good idea to keep a set of baby wipes within arm’s reach. We have a pack in every room of the house, in each of our cars, AND the diaper bag. Spot clean accidents; if you can whisk off the soiled clothing and into the washer right away, great! If not, the wet wipe helps dilute any offending stain or smell until you can get to the wash.

  • Factor in Extra Drying Time

    Factor in Extra Drying Time

The one thing we’ve discovered about drying baby’s clothes is that they always seem to take longer to dry than a load of our laundry. Since many baby clothes are knit and so tiny, the lack of surface area combined with slightly thicker fabrics can make even the tiniest outfit take longer to dry than a pair of mom’s jeans! Another helpful time-saving tip for drying: fluff out baby’s clothes from washer to dryer, so they’re not balled up while they dry.

  • Never Lose Another Sock!

    Never Lose Another Sock!

Tossing baby’s socks into the washer and dryer is a recipe for a disappearing act. They’re just so little that they can get caught in a sleeve or pant leg or rolled up in a blanket or towel. Keep little baby socks from wandering wayward by washing and drying small items like socks and baby wash clothes in a mesh bag.
