5 Reasons I'm Grateful for My Baby This Week, Vol 4
While I thought writing this weekly post during the month of November could be fun for readers, I didn’t realize how important it would be for me. My family’s world has been a bit chaotic lately, what with big kid drama and schedules, a big Thanksgiving road trip, my newly crowned 4-year old’s birthday, and more. In taking the time to really focus in on my baby, “Pink”, I’ve found that I am truly more grateful for the impact she has on my daily life.
Here are a few of the reasons she’s made me smile this week…
Reason #1: She’s reminded me that you can’t get too much of a good thing. Like ice cream.
Reason #2: When I was having a day that brought me to tears, she came over and hugged me. Without so much as a word.
Reason #3: She (unintentionally, but effectively) breaks the tension. If she hears her brothers yelling (because I don’t ever yell) at each other, she’ll start shouting jibberish, then laugh hysterically. Which means the rest of us tend to as well.
Reason #4: She cries when I leave. And when I return. While it’s nice to know she misses me when I’m off changing the world — ok, co-oping at her brother’s preschool — it’s equally great to know she’s been loved and cared for so wonderfully while I’m away.
Reason #5: She still lacks self-consciousness. She gives everyone big ol’ kisses on the lips. When she hears music, she dances. Sometimes as she’s walking along, she jumps, for no apparent reason. I just love watching her explore this wonderous world.
How about you? What were you grateful for this week?
