5 Reasons I'm Grateful for My Baby This Week, Vol 3

While many people were out hitting the Black Friday sales this morning, I was having some quality one-on-one time with my baby girl, “Pink”. Since her two big brothers — who are very early risers — spent the night at their cousins’ house, this was a very rare (and welcome) treat. And though Thanksgiving is all too quickly behind us, I find myself extra grateful for my baby today. Here are just a few of the reasons…

Reason #1: Pink has suddenly entered a new stage where instead of laughing at everyone else, she’s trying to make us laugh. (And this picture is proof that it’s working.)

Reason #2: She reminds me that we all have a whole lot of love to go around. (Lamby, Thumper, baby doll, monkey, and Chester the dog can back me up on this one!)

Reason #3: She doesn’t shy away from trying new things. Stuffed zucchini? Yes, please! Who says you can’t carry 5 purses at once? Not me. Why shouldn’t you lick a compost bin? Hmm, now I get it.

Reason #4: The way she says “please”. Man, that whining can really get frustrating, but now that we’ve taught her to say “pweeeezz” in a sweet, high-pitched voice, I’m pretty sure she could ask for a car right now and we’d say yes.

Reason #5: Time and again, she reminds me that — three kids in — I still have a lot to learn as a mom. For instance, I may share all kinds of great tips on Disney Baby (like essential #7 here), but if I don’t heed them myself, well, let’s just say the car seat may still be wet.
