Hosting a baby shower is a fun way to help a friend or family member welcome a new little person into their life, but hosting can get really expensive really quickly. Here are a few suggestions for creating a pretty baby shower without breaking the bank.
1. Shop for decor around your own home.
Buying decor that will be used for only a few short hours may be fun, but it definitely isn’t practical from a monetary standpoint. So, instead shop around your own house for items you can incorporate into your decor. All of these items are used in my home decor, but when put together in a new way it looks fun and fresh.
2. Make your food do double duty
If you have a color scheme, try to make your food match with it when possible. It will make the whole space look more complete. For this particular shower I hosted, the theme was French Countryside with a color scheme of pink, so I got these cute bottles of sparkling French lemonade that happened to be pink and they were perfect!
3. Stretch your flowers further
Nothing makes a party’s decor feel more complete than flowers. Plants just instantly bring life to a space and I am a big fan of utilizing them, but they can be expensive. So, to save money, I like to buy a few bouquets and then divide them up into multiple vessels. It makes the space feel more full and it looks like you have way more flowers than you actually do.
4. Come up with a signature drink
Little thoughtful details like creating a signature drink for your shower can go a long way toward making an event feel more special without a ton more work.
5. DIY your favors
Creating simple shower favors can double as decor puts that extra little bit of effort in that guests definitely notice.
