5 Christmas Crafts for Toddlers

I put together a list of activities for our advent calendar this year, and it’s been a big success with my two-year-old.

Here are a few that have been most popular in our house and that can easily be done by a very small child. These are great for filling up the hours in the last days before Christmas when kids start to get a little antsy (or sugar-overloaded!):

Bird Feeder

I was dubious if this would actually work, but it was very straightforward and a perfect little activity for a two-year-old. She loved pressing the seeds into the cookie cutters and she was thrilled when we hung them on our patio.

Button cards

We made these and sent them to all of Ella’s great-grandparents. She loved arranging the buttons and then I drew on the lines and bows.

Peppermint Wreath

Ella loved unwrapping the peppermints and then watching them melt through the oven door. And she was not devastated when one broke and she had to eat it . . .

All the cutting-out fun of sugar cookies, with a lot fewer ingredients (two ingredients, to be exact).

Orange and Cloves

These have such a pretty, festive look, but take zero talent to assemble. Ours looked lovely for a few weeks.
