2013 Baby Nursery Trend: POLKA DOTS!
Posted by Michelle Horton
2013 trends are being speculated left and right — especially when it comes to style. And POLKA DOTS is a recent decor trend that will pop up in more baby nurseries.
Cheerful and friendly, these cute little spots lend themselves perfectly to a kids’ space.
Also: A Minnie Mouse theme! (Hooray!)
Check out some of my favorite polka-dotted items to add to your polka dot baby nursery:

Salvation Jane Removable Wallpaper in Spot
I love the wallpaper-like decals from The Wall Sticker Company — that look and feel like wallpaper without the time or commitment. This pattern comes in all colors, like pink (Minnie!), red (Mickey!), and black (either!).

Dotted Floor Bin
A super-cute way to store your baby’s toys and stuffed animals.

Upholstered Storage Bench
This polka-dotted bench serves as both a place for tired mama to sit AND a place to store all of baby’s toys, books, or puzzles. And it transitions beautifully from the baby nursery to a big-girl room.

Dot Knobs
Add little polka-dotted accents with these playful furniture knobs.

Minnie Mouse Lamp
A perfectly adorable polka-dotted lampshade, featuring our favorite bow-tastic mouse.

Audrey Chenille Dot Blackout Panel
These cotton canvas window panels will darken your baby’s room for daytime naps. And don’t they just scream MINNIE?

Dot Curtain Panels
…or you can opt for a more sheer, sunlight-encouraging window curtain.

Fisher-Price Minnie Mouse Twinkling Tea Party Play Gym
Add even more polka-dot flair with your baby gear — like with this adorable Minnie Mouse play gym.

Minnie Mouse Snuggle Blanky
…And with this Minnie Mouse lovey laying on your polka-dot crib sheets and polka-dot blankets.

Multiplayer Wall Hook
This will look just as good in a teenager’s room as it will in a baby’s nursery.

Skip Hop Mod Dot Bedding Set
Here’s a more modern, cool-kid version of the polka dot — from one of my favorite sources for baby bedding. I think this would look especially cool with a Mickey Mouse theme.

Circus Dot Rug
A subtle pop of polka dots in this small plush rug.

Candy Dot Rug
Or go a little bolder and brighter with this edible-looking candy dot rug in a variety of size options.

Polka Dots
These polka-dot wall decals come in variety of color schemes and sizes, so you can create your own design.

Vinyl Wall Sticker Decal Art
Or you can stick with a one-color scheme with these vinyl wall stickers (available in 24 different colors!).

DIY Polka Dot Nursery Wall
If you’re more of a DIY-er, this tutorial shows you how to create your own polka-doted walls with contact paper — and for less than $40.

Polka Dot Allover Stencil
If you’re more into stenciling, here’s a stencil pattern for you.

Sophie Crib Sheeting
Give your little Minnie her own cozy polka-dotted sheets that are easy to mix and match.

Eco Baby Dots Blanket
Complete your baby’s nursery with this eco-friendly dotted baby blanket.

Polka Dot Paper Lantern
I can see those pink-and-white lanterns hanging above a Minnie-themed baby room.

DwellStudio Savoy Glider
It’ll cost an arm and a leg (and maybe a foot, too), but this is the perfect glider for those looking for polka-dot accents.

Home Sweet Play Home Canopy
Continue the polka-dot trend for your toddler, with this cozy play tent.
