10 Songs To Get Your Baby Dancing This 4th of July
In our house, it’s not a party until somebody’s dancing. And, most often, it’s our baby, Pink. She’s personally tested and approved this list of fun songs that’s perfect for the 4th of July.
#1: Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus
This was my son’s favorite song as a little guy and now Pink has adopted it as her own. There’s nothing more all-American than a little head nodding and hip shaking.
#2: America by Neil Diamond
This song is all about dreaming big and loving our country. It even gives the original My Country Tis of Thee a dancing beat.
#3: Firework by Katy Perry
This song has a great message and has the added bonus of feeling perfect for the 4th. Especially since that baby may be too danced out to make it to an actual fireworks show.
#4: Sweet Home Alabama by Lynryd Skynyrd
I dare you to listen to this song and try not to dance. While your home may not be in Alabama, this song is pure Americana.
#5: Born in the USA by Bruce Springsteen
While the subject matter is heavy (hardships from the Vietnam War), there’s no denying this song will ensure generation after generation knows who Bruce Springsteen is.
#6: Living in America James Brown
This fun, upbeat song will get you moving and loving living in the good ol’ U.S. of A.
#7: R.O.C.K. in the USA by John Mellencamp
Song after song of Mellencamp’s will have you thinking of the great aspects of our country — small towns, corner bars, chili dogs — but this is one of the best dancing tunes for the 4th.
#8: Route 66 by John Mayer
This modern-day version of an old favorite from the Cars soundtrack is a fun virtual ride from Chicago to LA — with a bit more rock ‘n roll groove.
#9: Surfin’ USA by Beach Boys
This all-American classic just begs for sunshine and fun with friends.
#10: American Girl by Tom Petty
The subject matter of this song is the stuff of urban legends, but for the 4th, it’s just a fun tune to sing to that baby girl (or boy) of yours.
