10 Nursery DIY Projects to Tackle in 2013

When it comes to decorating, I’m not a natural. I have to look to the pros for ideas, inspiration, and how to’s. Recently Selena covered some gorgeous nursery trends here on Disney Baby. In this case, I talked to the moms of Project Nursery, Melisa and Pam, and they’ve shared great ideas that anyone can do. Here are the DIY trends these designer moms think will be huge in 2013. And the best news is, they’re great things to try on a budget.

Try Temporary Wallpaper

Skip the pricey wallpaper professional. Anyone can apply peel-n-stick wallpaper these days. Just ask Tori Spelling.

Jazz Up Changer

Whether it’s a simple coat of paint or a trendsetting Ombre pattern, upcycling what you already own is a great way to make something old, new again.

Break Out the Painter's Tape

Get the chic look of a trellis or gate pattern for the crib accent wall using a wall stencil and some paint.

Don't Forget to Look Up

Show your ceiling some love and make it a stand out in the nursery. Start small by adding a painted ceiling medallion or go big and paint the entire ceiling.

Have a well loved stuffed animal or clothing from your own childhood? Showcase it on a bookshelf or pop it into a shadow box frame. These momentos will give your nursery that extra special personal touch.
